"The Originals" is the latest Zenith release, inspired by the 1969 automatic chronograph "El Primero"...





...and this is the 1969 model...





This is the first unit that has arrived to Spain, far before October, which is the release date...Let me show some pics to you...











The back, it's not my favourite one, I don't like the shield, you can't see the caliber with it...



And finally, a wristshot...

Je ne suis pas fan du boîtier (au niveau des cornes). Je trouve que l'aiguille des secondes fait limite en qualité par rapport aux autres brossées. J'aimerais bien voir le modèle d'origine dont ils se sont inspirés.

My favourite zenith vintage for sure. I would prefer maybe the classic case shape with straight lugs, but this one has a great face! The case back looking is horrible! I ever thought that saphir case back did not match on a diver watch, and now with the printed shield hiding everything.... not my cup of tea.

However a beautiful model, and high price for the reedition, even for the stainless steel version.

It seems to be a lovely watch.
That case is beautiful, the dial is a wonder.
Classy, sporty, not annoying or sad with this colors. One of the best in chronograph history imho.
And this special fast tic tac.

I slightly prefer the thinner case of this original model.
(Pour éviter toute confusion, ce n'est PAS celui qui a inspiré Zénith, il y en a un exactement identique à celui présenté par Vegaban.)

Je préfère TRES largement le boîtier de celle que tu présentes, Cisco ! une belle finesse comparée à l'autre beaucoup trop massif à mon goûit.

The one Cisco is showing is an A 386 from 1969...



...and the one which the reissue is based is a A 3817 from 1971 ( The most beautiful dial with the most "classy" case...

Il y a eu en effet beaucoup de boîtiers différents ! modèles qui ont du charme c'est sûr.

That is what I precised in French.
The two models existed and are magnificent, I prefer the thinner model but the reedition of the "other" one is absolutely beautiful.

Zénith at his best imho.

What is the price of this model ?

Le price sera plus bas de celui annoncé par Zenith à Bâle, reflet d'une politique tarifaire plus en adéquation avec les aspirations de la clientèle de la marque. Il faudra tabler un peu en dessous de 7.000 euros pour la version acier.

Oui, elle est vraiment fine pour un chrono auto (il me semble que seul le piguet 1185 est plus fin que le EP, mais après l'habillage a évolué, et il n'est pas toujours emboité dans des boites graciles comme certaines blancpain classiques)

L'el priméro c'est top,même si les 36.000 battement ne sont pas agréable a entendre(le plus agréable c'est 21.600),enfin c'est mon avis.

Par contre les boitier et cadran Zénith,je n'accroche ni aux anciennes ni aux dernières créations,seuls les modèles don 90 et début 2000 me plaisent en général mais 40mm c'est assurément trop petit pour mon poignet.

Et d'un autre coté un el priméro dans un boitier plus grand que 40 il nage et c'est pas joli.
